Emergency Prayer Request for Little E

While we were in Ethiopia I was able to witness an amazing moment.  We were at an orphanage.  I walked into the baby room and my friend, LeAnne was holding a baby.  She said, "Amy, you need to take this baby."  I am a baby holding kind of girl, so I had no problems taking the baby from her.  After handing me the baby, she walked two steps over and picked up another little baby.  She caressed him and loved on him.  Their bond was instant and beautiful.
She asked the nurse his name and the nurse shook her head as if to say he had no name.  Because of the language barrier, we thought maybe she didn't understand the question.  LeAnne then asked the director what his name was and she confirmed that this little boy who was three weeks old, did not have a name.  LeAnne then said, "Well, we have to give him a name.  I need to have a name to pray for him."  The director agreed that LeAnne could name him and a few moments later he had a name.  (We will call him Little E.  Since he is in an orphanage, I cannot share his name on the blog.)

LeAnne felt that he might have Hydrocephalus.    (Hydrocephalus is a buildup of fluid inside the skull, leading to brain swelling. Hydrocephalus means "water on the brain." source)  She asked the director if he had been taken to the doctor and she was told that he would be soon.  It was not much longer after that, we were told that it was time for us to load up the van.  I watched LeAnne say a tearful goodbye and hand this sweet little baby back to the nurse.

When she got back in the van she described in detail the feeling of being drawn to this baby.  She said she had never felt anything like it before.  She explained that she got a warm feeling from the top of her head to her toes and she was led to that baby.  We were all in tears as she was telling the story because we all knew that God had just moved her.
From that moment on she has been Little E's advocate.  We were able to return to that orphanage and LeAnne spent the entire time holding him and praying over him.  Since returning home, she has stayed in contact with the director and contacted every person that she can to get Little E the help he needs.  He was taken to the doctor last week and it was confirmed that he does have hydrocephalus.  They were told that if he does not have surgery very soon, he will die.  By the amazing works of God, Little E's surgery has been set-up for Friday which is actually tonight our time.
SO I AM BEGGING YOU...will you please join me in praying for Little E and for the surgeons.  I know without a doubt that God brought LeAnne into E's life to be his advocate here on Earth.  It has not made one bit of difference that they are now on two different continents.  LeAnne has been moved for a reason to care for this precious baby boy and I hope that you too are moved to pray for him.

I will keep you updated as soon as I hear the news of his surgery.  Thank you for praying!
